Tourism, hospitality and experience-led businesses across Northamptonshire are being encouraged to get involved in English Tourism Week 2026, which will take place from 13 to 22 March 2026.
Led nationally by VisitEngland, English Tourism Week aims to highlight the quality, value and economic importance of England’s visitor economy, while giving destinations and businesses a platform to engage customers ahead of the spring and summer season.
In Northamptonshire, activity around the week will be supported locally by Discover Northamptonshire, the county’s Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP), which works across the public and private sectors to promote the area and strengthen the impact of tourism.
Businesses are being invited to express interest in taking part through a range of campaign opportunities. These include offering time-limited English Tourism Week promotions, featuring in destination-led digital content, or taking part in influencer activity designed to reach new audiences. Businesses are also being encouraged to put forward their own ideas for showcasing what they offer.
Georgia Wales, Discover Northamptonshire Officer, said English Tourism Week provides a valuable opportunity for local businesses to raise their profile. “English Tourism Week gives Northamptonshire businesses a national platform to showcase what makes them distinctive, while benefiting from coordinated local promotion. It’s a chance to reach new audiences, drive engagement and start the season with real momentum,” she said.
Previous English Tourism Week activity delivered strong digital engagement for participating Northamptonshire businesses. Campaign content generated more than 30,000 views, attracted 660 new social media followers, and produced a bank of high-quality photography and video that businesses could continue to use after the campaign. Participants also reported increased website traffic during the week, with all businesses rating their involvement five out of five.
English Tourism Week forms part of VisitEngland’s wider work to champion the visitor economy and highlight its contribution to local communities. Tourism remains one of England’s largest industries, supporting millions of jobs and generating around £76 billion a year in domestic visitor spending.
For Northamptonshire businesses, the 2026 campaign offers a chance to increase visibility, attract new customers and be part of a coordinated national celebration of the visitor economy, supported locally through the county’s LVEP.
Businesses interested in taking part are encouraged to register their interest ahead of March 2026.
