Thirty-five start-ups from across Northamptonshire have each received £2,000 grants through the Build Your Business 2.0 programme.

The initiative, which runs until March 2026, is funded by £310,000 from the government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund and delivered free of charge through the Business & IP Centre (BIPC) Northamptonshire. It combines grant funding with workshops, mentoring and expert advice to help entrepreneurs launch and grow businesses locally.

Participants receive support in areas such as marketing, financial planning, business strategy, wellbeing and resilience. After completing the programme, eligible founders were invited to apply for the £2,000 start-up grant, with 35 successful applicants selected following a competitive process.

James Petter, deputy leader and cabinet member for local economy at West Northamptonshire Council, said: “It’s fantastic to see so many entrepreneurs benefit from this programme. These grants not only provide crucial early-stage funding but also equip start-ups with the skills and confidence to succeed.”

Jan O’Hara, executive member for planning and economic growth at North Northamptonshire Council, added: “These £2,000 grants are more than just financial support — they’re a vote of confidence in the innovation, resilience and ambition of our local start-ups.”
