EAST Midlands businesswomen will be meeting in Northamptonshire on Tuesday 7 March to share career progress and examine ways to improve their leadership prospects and opportunities.
The Institute of Directors’ (IoD) East Midlands third Women as Leaders Convention will be held at Highgate House, Northampton (12-3.30pm).
Sarah Canning, a Northamptonshire solicitor and Chair of the IoD’s Northamptonshire Committee said: "The IoD is committed to increasing the diversity of boards in the private, public and third sectors; and to supporting those aspiring to senior leadership positions. This year’s focus is the importance of corporate governance and effective leadership, resulting in better directors, better business, better services and better economy."
Among the speakers and panellists will be: Sue Smith, Joint Chief Executive of Cherwell and South Northamptonshire Council; Camille McLean of The Pickled Village, part of the Bramble Foods Group and based in Market Harborough; Heather Melville, Director of Strategic Partnerships and Head of Inclusion Initiatives for the Royal Bank of Scotland; Fiona Baldwin, an audit partner with Grant Thornton. Rachel Hargrave of RBZ Consulting will be a panel member and is sponsoring the event.
The IoD’s James Jarvis, Corporate Governance Analyst, will also be a speaker.
