FOLLOWING a recent audit, the Knights of Old group has successfully maintained the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) bronze standard requirement at its Kettering headquarters.

The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme is a voluntary scheme that encourages sustainable best practice for fleet operators. At its core, FORS promotes safe working practices, legal compliance and a corporate social responsibility to improve the performance of fleet operators. Initially developed by Transport for London, FORS is now a nationwide scheme run by the FORS Community Partnership.

Speaking on behalf of Knights of Old Group, Compliance Manager Tony Quenet said: "Ensuring FORS best practice standards and legal compliance is vital to the Knights of Old Group’s health and safety commitment. Being FORS compliant has become part of the fabric of our daily operation, our reputation of running a safe and fuel efficient fleet is built upon its principles.

"FORS is broken down into three standards: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each standard demands different requirements and as a result different levels of investments. FORS Bronze requires high operating standards, which complements The Knights of Old Group’s existing ISO standards. Precedents set in London were the major reasons behind the launch of this standard, however, more and more customers outside London now require the FORS standard."

The FORS Standard is reviewed and updated on a two-year cycle, the latest standard, Version 4, was issued in September 2016. As an accredited FORS Operator since 2010 at its Kettering, Northampton and Luton depots, The Knights of Old Group are members of an elite group of operators that boast exemplary levels of safety, efficiency and environmental awareness.
