Recognition for five decades of supporting people with life-limiting illnesses has seen Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity shortlisted for Charity of the Year at the 2026 Northamptonshire Business Awards.
Organised by Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce, the awards recognise organisations making an outstanding contribution to communities and the wider economy across the county.
The charity has been recognised for the fundraising and community support that help provide specialist palliative care services across West Northamptonshire, with the shortlist announced during its 50th anniversary year.
Since Cynthia Spencer Hospice first opened in 1976, its services have expanded beyond inpatient care to include Hospice@Home, outpatient wellbeing services, lymphoedema care, bereavement support and specialist palliative care delivered in the community.
According to the charity, its Specialist Palliative Care team recorded 15,923 contacts with patients across West Northamptonshire during the past year, supporting people with life-limiting illnesses while also providing care and guidance for their families.

The winners of the Northamptonshire Business Awards will be announced at Sywell Aerodrome on Friday 11 September.
The charity’s 50th anniversary celebrations will conclude with a black-tie gala at Hangar One, Sywell Aerodrome, on Thursday 15 October. The event will feature performances by Northampton singer-songwriter Billy Lockett and Northampton Sings Out choir.
