Northamptonshire’s business excellence took centre stage as companies, charities, and entrepreneurs gathered for the NNBN Awards 2025, celebrating innovation, sustainability, and community impact across the county.
The event brought together organisations of every size — from renewable energy engineers and educators to creative start-ups and social enterprises — showcasing the depth of talent driving Northamptonshire’s economy.
Milton Malsor-based Verve Workspace was named Business of the Year, recognised for its 39% year-on-year growth and extensive UK client base. Marlec Engineering in Corby claimed The Green Award for its pioneering work in renewable energy and commitment to generating half of its own electricity through solar power.
Towcester’s Nick Wilson, known as The Disabled Adventurer, received the Special Recognition Award for his exceptional advocacy on accessibility and inclusion, while Jamie-Lee Lothian of Northants Fashion & Textiles School celebrated a double win — Business Person of the Year and Start-Up Business of the Year — after expanding her school to more than 60 students within a year.
Community impact was a strong theme throughout the evening. NAB Sight Support for Northamptonshire was named Charity of the Year, while The Nutrient Gap from Irthlingborough took home Food & Drink Business of the Year for its growth in the nutrition sector.

The event, hosted by NNBN Directors Simon Cox and Marie Baker, was supported by headline sponsors Wilson Browne Solicitors, West Northamptonshire Council, Square Feet, Poppy Eco Hub, and Pilkington Communications.
Simon Cox said the evening “showcased the exceptional innovation, determination and community focus that make Northamptonshire businesses so special”.
Marie Baker added: “The calibre of entries this year was incredible — every finalist should feel proud of what they’ve achieved.”
