A Rushden family business has won the top honour at the Northamptonshire Business Awards after its workforce grew by almost 57 per cent in 12 months.
Inter County Service Group received The Pinnacle Award and High Growth Business of the Year at the ceremony, organised by Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce at Sywell Aerodrome.
The cleaning and waste management company’s expansion was accelerated by its acquisition of Clean4Shaw Facilities Management in April 2026. The deal added 147 employees and 198 clients to the business.
Unlike the other categories, The Pinnacle Award had no shortlist. Judges chose its winner from across the entries, recognising Inter County’s growth over almost 50 years and its continued development of services to meet customer demand.
Presenting the award, Kevin Rogers of Wilson Browne Solicitors said the company had “one arm around the past and its eyes on the future”.
Callum Nicholson, Inter County’s finance director, said: “We were absolutely delighted to win High Growth Business of the Year, but to then hear our name called for The Pinnacle Award was a complete surprise, which made it a special moment for all of us.
“As a family business with almost 50 years of history behind us, we’re incredibly proud of our heritage and the family values that have shaped Inter County. At the same time, we’re ambitious about the future.”
Inter County was among the winners recognised at the Northamptonshire Business Awards on 11 September.
