Former England rugby international and World Cup winner Ben Cohen MBE will headline the Northamptonshire Mind Gala Ball next month, with just 13 tickets remaining as businesses across the county rally behind the charity’s fundraising event.

The black-tie evening, taking place at Sedgebrook Hall in Chapel Brampton on Saturday 21 November, has already sold 107 of its 120 tickets, reflecting strong support from Northamptonshire’s business community.

Cohen, a member of England’s 2003 Rugby World Cup-winning squad and a mental health advocate, will be interviewed by broadcaster and journalist Fraser Dainton, discussing his personal experiences and work raising awareness of mental health issues.

The event will raise funds for Northamptonshire Mind, which provides mental health support across the county through counselling, Crisis Cafés, wellbeing programmes and community initiatives.

Businesses have played a significant role in supporting the Gala Ball, with sponsors and partners contributing to an evening designed to raise both funds and awareness of the charity’s work.

Ian Taylor, trustee of Northamptonshire Mind and organiser of the event, said: “This year’s Gala Ball is shaping up to be something genuinely special.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support shown by businesses across Northamptonshire, our sponsors, volunteers and supporters. Their commitment has helped us create an evening that not only celebrates success and community spirit but also helps ensure that people experiencing mental health challenges can access support when they need it most.

“The response has been fantastic, and we’re now down to our final handful of tickets. We would love anyone who has been considering attending to join us for what promises to be a memorable evening while helping make a real difference to people’s lives.”

Two sponsorship opportunities remain available for businesses wishing to support the evening, covering the entertainment and photobooth.

Guests will have the opportunity to be photographed with Cohen, while an event photographer will capture the evening. Organisers hope the photographs will also help encourage further business involvement in future fundraising events.

The Gala Ball forms part of Northamptonshire Mind’s wider fundraising efforts, helping the charity maintain services for people experiencing mental health difficulties across the county.

With ticket sales approaching capacity, organisers are encouraging businesses and individuals considering attending to secure one of the remaining places.

The evening begins at 6pm on Saturday 21 November.

Tickets and further details are available through the Northamptonshire Mind Gala Ball booking page. Businesses interested in the remaining sponsorship opportunities can contact Northamptonshire Mind directly.
