AN INTREPID group of 10 riders from David Williams IFA (DWIFA) are tackling a challenging 225-mile charity cycle ride to Belgium this month.
The ‘tremendous ten’ are participating as a DWIFA team in the Ride for Hope. This sees riders peddle from Northampton to the Flemish town of Ypres, travelling the distance in just three days.
Riders in the event will all be raising money for the Northampton Hope Centre. The Centre supports homeless and disadvantaged adults in Northampton, many of whom are suffering from family breakdown, drug or alcohol addictions and mental health issues.
The DWIFA team of seven men and three women includes David Williams IFA managing director and formers Saints star Nick Beal, executive chairman David Sparrow and mortgage director Tim O’ Neill.
They will set off from Northampton University on the morning of July 6 and aim to arrive in Belgium on the evening of July 8.
Nick Beal said: “This is a really exciting event in aid of a truly deserving cause. We are delighted that so many from David Williams IFA have made the huge commitment to join in the ride.”
Riders from the company have been training hard over the past few months, building up their stamina through midweek evening sessions and endurance rides at the weekend.
David Williams IFA, the county’s biggest financial planning business, has made a donation to cover all the costs of the team. This means that every penny of additional sponsorship goes to support the Hope Centre.
Nick added: “We are hugely grateful to the clients, staff family and friends who have kindly sponsored us and wished us well on this adventure. We are looking forward to sharing our stories with you once we are back in the UK.’
