A specialist legal team in Northamptonshire has been recognised on the national stage after being named a finalist at the British Wills & Probate Awards 2025.
Wilson Browne Solicitors’ Court of Protection team, led by partner Vicki Pearce, has been shortlisted for Team of the Year. The awards ceremony takes place on 9 October at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester.
The Court of Protection team works with some of the most vulnerable members of society — people who are unable to make decisions for themselves due to age, illness, or accident. Their expertise spans complex and sensitive areas including Court of Protection applications, appointing deputies to manage financial affairs, and challenging care or funding arrangements.
“In such a highly specialised area, it’s a huge endorsement to be recognised at a national level,” said Vicki. “The team works so hard for clients who are vulnerable or unable to make decisions for themselves – we’re absolutely thrilled and looking forward to attending the awards.”
The British Wills & Probate Awards, now in their eighth year, celebrate excellence across the sector. Organised by Today’s Media, publisher of Today’s Wills and Probate, the event brings together professionals from both regulated and unregulated areas of practice. Past winners have included leading national and regional law firms, highlighting the competitive nature of the shortlist.
For Wilson Browne Solicitors, the nomination reflects not only the team’s expertise but also its role within the wider Northamptonshire community. With offices across the county, the firm has built a reputation for providing specialist legal advice that supports families and individuals through challenging circumstances.
Recognition at the awards is seen as an important benchmark within the industry, shining a spotlight on best practice and innovation. For Vicki and her team, the shortlisting is a chance to highlight the importance of protecting the rights and interests of those who cannot advocate for themselves.
