Awards get ready to go again

THE success of last year’s awards has attracted new sponsors to the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards for 2017.

Among those backing the event, which recognises the industrious, hardworking and enterprising SMEs in the county, are dbfb, Franklins Solicitors, Bosworth College, CIPD and Echo Personnel.

New sponsors already announced include the legal firm Borneo Martell Turner Coulston, which has offices in Northampton, Kettering and Market Harborough, and SilverDisc, who will be sponsoring the Business of the Year – Over 50 Employees award.

Northamptonshire is home to a wide spectrum of businesses in a range of sectors, with smaller companies being the lifeblood of the county, often working alongside and complementing the major players.

The 2017 SME Northamptonshire Business Awards are open to any business with fewer than 250 employees. Categories include, among others, Best New Business, Business Person of the Year, Training and Development, Apprentice of the Year, Employee of the Year and Networking Group of the Year, and each business is eligible to enter up to two categories.

Clare de Banke, Managing Partner of Borneo Martell Turner Coulston, said: “We found the whole process of entering and being shortlisted last year to be a very positive experience, while the awards dinner itself was an excellent evening and a superb networking opportunity. We’re happy to be on board this year as a category sponsor and to help promote local success stories.”

Gary Pettit, Managing Director of PBC Business Recovery and Insolvency, which is sponsoring the Training and Development Award, said: “At PBC we believe encouraging your employees to enhance their skills aids the development of their career while also providing the employer with a more efficient workplace. Those skills transform into a service envied by your competitors, giving you an edge when looking to promote success.”

This year’s awards will be launched at Northampton College on April 25 between 11am and 12 noon. The launch event is free to attend, but those interested can book a place at smenorthantsphotocall.eventbrite.co.uk
