HOUSEBUILDER Bellway has been named Corporate Fundraising Team of the Year by leading charity Cancer Research UK for its fundraising work.
Bellway was presented with the award, which recognises the significant fundraising achievements of a group of charity champions from one of Cancer Research UK’s corporate partners, at the charity’s 2019 Flame of Hope Awards.
Cancer Research UK has been Bellway’s nominated charity across all divisions and its Newcastle head office since 2016. The developer has raised more than £1.25m for the charity since then, with fundraising now continuing into a fourth financial year.
Bellway Northern Home Counties, which is based in and builds homes across Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Cambridgeshire, raised just over £62,000 which went towards this total.
Luke Southgate, Sales Director for Bellway Northern Home Counties, said: “It truly is a great honour that Bellway has won the Corporate Fundraising Team of the Year Award from Cancer Research UK.
“These awards are a celebration of those who have supported this wonderful charity, but the spotlight should not be taken away from the incredible work Cancer Research UK does, funding scientists, doctors and nurses to help beat cancer.
“We have really enjoyed working together as a team to raise money for such a worthwhile cause, which is close to so many of our hearts.
“To hear how much our support is appreciated by Cancer Research UK means a great deal.”
