ABACO Systems Ltd in Towcester, Northampton has appointed Goodrich Consulting LLP as project managers and quantity surveyors on the construction of a new 29,751 sq ft warehouse extension to their existing 80,000 sq ft manufacturing space and three storey offices.
Goodrich acted as project managers and quantity surveyors on the original facility, which was constructed in 2003 for local developer Hampton Brook.
The new extension will include a 19,870 sq ft ground-floor production facility and 9,881 sq ft first floor office. Breakthrough openings will be created into the existing facility once works are nearing completion. It is paramount that there is no disruption to the ongoing manufacturing facility which is a live 24-hour operation, making programme products for mission critical applications in defence, aerospace and industry around the world.
Works started on site in October 2016 and at present steel frame work is complete and the roof and wall cladding is in progress. The whole project is due complete by July 2017.
