WITH the company growing in terms of floor space and order book, Henderson Fabrications continues to invest in the future with a rolling programme of apprenticeships.

In the past five years, three apprentices have gone through day release training to gain certification in fabrication and welding skills and another started his training with the Moulton Park firm last month.

Managing Director Steve O’Looney said: “Apprenticeships are something that we have been actively pursuing for some time now. Our current apprentice is finishing his level 3 this year, so will be with us full time, five days a week from July and we have taken on another one who we will also look to train up in all aspects of sheet metal fabrication and put through a three-year college course.

“Henderson Fabrications is constantly growing, we’ve invested in additional space in the form of a new 5,500 square foot extension and in state-of-the-art equipment so that we can offer the best possible service to our customers, and on top of that we need to lay the foundations for the future in terms of skilled personnel to keep the company moving forward.”

The 25,500 square feet factory premises in Kings Park Road provide design, punching, folding, welding and laser cutting services for a range of sheet metals.

The new laser cutter can cut up to 12mm mild steel, 4mm thick aluminium and 8mm thick stainless steel.

Henderson offers a complete concept to completion service, designing and creating prototypes where required, and seeing them through to production. Volumes range from a one-off product to a large run.
