AFTER recording record breaking sales as one of the leading suppliers of Cesab handling and lifting equipment, Hitec Lift Trucks is inviting customers to take advantage of a cash-back scrappage scheme.
Figures for the year ending March 2017 show that the Wellingborough fork-lift truck and handling equipment firm had its best sales year to date. It supplies new and used Cesab equipment for sale or hire, including fork-lifts, access platforms, powered pallet trucks and more specialised equipment. And now, as a direct result of last year’s excellent performance, the firm is actively looking to increase its sales team to ensure the growth continues.
Currently, the Finedon Road Industrial Estate company, is offering £250 cash back when a customer trades in a manual pallet truck, regardless of its age and condition, for a new Cesab Powered Pallet Truck.
Research shows that manual handling is one of the biggest causes of musculoskeletal injuries in the workplace, with hand pallet trucks requiring operators to use their arms, backs and legs to manoeuvre items around the workplace, often without realising how much strain they are putting on their bodies.
Hitec Lift Trucks Managing Director Prospero Girardi said: “These hand pallet trucks allow items up to two tonnes in weight to be lifted, but don’t account for the strains employees are putting on their bodies when they then have to push or pull the pallet truck from one place to another.
“Added to the risk of injury to the user, you also have to consider what happens if you lose control of a hand pallet truck. It’s physically impossible to stop that kind of load if you lose control on even a slight incline – and that can have potentially disastrous consequences.”
Cesab offers a range of powered pallet trucks with capacities from 1.3 to 2.5 tonnes. The new P113 Powered Pallet Truck, for instance, is compact and lightweight and gives excellent control, even in tight spaces.
“Powered pallet trucks are operated at the touch of a button and if the operator releases their grip on the handle, the unit simply stops, so there’s no danger of it rolling out of control,” said Prospero.
“We’re urging people to consider taking advantage of the trade-in offer to ensure the safety of their employees and the goods they have to move around.”
