Northamptonshire businesses are being invited to take part in a charity quiz night organised by Commsave Credit Union to raise money for local animal rescue organisation Animals in Need.

The event will take place at Northampton Town Football Club on Monday 7 December, with around 100 professionals from local businesses and partner organisations expected to attend.

Commsave hopes to raise more than £1,500 for Animals in Need, which rescues and cares for sick, injured and distressed wild and domestic animals across Northamptonshire.

The charity operates with eight members of staff and a team of volunteers, providing veterinary treatment and caring for animals until they can be released into the wild or rehomed.

James Richards, strategic partnership manager at Commsave Credit Union, said: “Animals in Need does incredible work across the county, much of it behind the scenes. Their small team of staff and volunteers is there for animals in distress when they need it most – and every pound we raise on the night will help them keep doing that.

“We’ve already been in touch with many of our partners, and now we’d love to open the doors to the wider Northamptonshire business community. It’s a relaxed, sociable evening – a chance to meet other local businesses, test your general knowledge and support a charity that makes a real difference, all in one go.”

The quiz will be held in the Tollers Lounge from 5.30pm to 10.30pm, with participants competing in teams of six.

Businesses can support the event through several sponsorship packages, including a £400 headline sponsorship opportunity offering a table of six, promotional branding and the chance to present prizes to the winning team.

Fifteen table sponsorship packages are available at £150 each, while eight individual quiz rounds can be sponsored for £100 each.

Organisations can also contribute by donating raffle prizes. All profits from the evening will go to Animals in Need, with sponsors receiving a breakdown of the funds raised after the event.

James added: “You don’t need to be a quiz champion to take part. Whether you take a table, sponsor a round or donate a raffle prize, you’ll be helping a local charity that relies on the generosity of people and businesses right here in Northamptonshire. We’d love to see as many local businesses there as possible.”

Commsave Credit Union celebrates its 35th anniversary this year. The not-for-profit, member-owned financial co-operative serves more than 43,000 members across the UK, providing savings, affordable lending and financial education.

Its Community Fund has awarded more than £150,000 to charities, schools and community groups.
