The Commsave Credit Union team outside the organisation’s Northampton headquarters as membership surpasses 39,000.
Northampton-based Commsave Credit Union has reached a record milestone after membership passed 39,000 for the first time.
The credit union, which operates nationally from its headquarters in Northampton, saw more than 670 people join in August, following 759 in July and 570 in June — three consecutive months of record growth.
Interim chief executive Richard Munro said the figures reflected a shift in consumer priorities.
“Reaching over 39,000 members is a truly historic moment for Commsave,” he said. “People want ethical, transparent, community-focused financial services — and we’re honoured they are choosing us.”
The growth comes as households continue to face financial pressures. Commsave’s message — You are more than your credit score — has struck a chord with people looking for affordable loans, fair savings rates, and financial education support.
Membership growth also strengthens the organisation’s ability to invest in new services and expand its Community Fund, which supports local causes and financial education programmes.
“As we approach our new financial year in October, we’re not just celebrating numbers but the thousands of families now able to access fair financial services and build stronger financial futures,” Richard added.
Founded as a member-owned co-operative, Commsave says its focus remains on providing safe savings, affordable credit, and financial wellbeing support, rather than generating shareholder profit.
